What does the maintenance plan cover?
The maintenance plan is what we consider an essential service for running a WordPress website.
In addition to the above-listed features, the maintenance plan provides your clients with a trusted provider who is on hand to inspect and deal with the random quirks and issues that inevitably occur.
What is covered with unlimited update requests?
Unlimited content update requests allow you or your clients to send requests directly into our support inbox for a quick turnaround; typically less than one business day.
These updates are intended to allow your customers to request changes to the content, images, and essential information on their website, without wondering if they have enough time in the budget this month.
As a general rule of thumb, update requests cover most things that can be performed in under 30 minutes that are clear, have a measurable outcome, and can be performed with the existing functionality of the website.
Support that requires more time can still be submitted but might require that we break up the requests into smaller tasks in order to balance incoming requests responsibly and fairly.
What is the expected turnaround time for requests?
Our goal is to be able to provide a 24-hour turnaround for most tasks and requests. Providing a thorough request is the first step in ensuring this goal is achievable.
For example. Incoming support and update requests that arrive before 4pm Pacific Time will be assigned to our overnight production queue and are typically taken care of by the morning.
My client's site experienced a random, technical issue and we have no idea what is wrong. Can you help?
Absolutely! That is exactly why we exist. We don't want our clients to have to worry about the day-to-day issues with their sites. If your contact form isn't sending emails properly, or your SSL certificate isn't loading properly suddenly, we want to help.
While we can't guarantee unlimited support for every theme or plugin made by all the different authors out there, we will always do our best to ensure our client sites are functioning to the best of their ability. In most cases, we're able to repair the issue or recommend an alternative solution and implement the fix without much trouble.
Given that, in most cases, we are not the original developers of your site though, there may be times where extensive development work may be required on custom or high-level functionality. When this occurs, we'll make our best possible recommendations to you in order to give you the information needed to make a clear decision of how you would like to proceed.
Do you maintain premium plugins and themes?
Yes - assuming they are licensed. We always suggest keeping premium themes and plugins licensed, current and up-to-date. We also have many premium plugins and themes purchased with developer licenses, which means you have full access for all sites managed by us!
To name a few, Gravity Forms, Beaver Builder, Elementor, Astra, WP Rocket, Advanced Custom Fields, and Genesis.
Do you work with Themeforest themes?
Themeforest themes have earned a bad reputation over the years. Some of it is warranted, some of it isn't. And much of it is unfair to generalize as there are thousands of themes, built by various authors.
Working with Themeforest themes, in theory, should not be an issue. We would never want to place restrictions which themes are used, but our experience has shown that many DIY'ers use Themeforest themes and make improper modifications, don't keep them licensed and up-to-date, or they suffer from major speed performance issues.
So while, yes, we will maintain a site using a Themeforest theme, there are some caveats:
- If the theme & related plugins are outdated and the site is pre-WordPress 5.0, the license must be current (or renewed), and some time must be allowed to safely bring things up-to-date
- If the theme has not been updated in some time, slight visual or other small changes might occur due to the base theme's CSS updates. We're happy to work on them, but again, additional time may be required to pinpoint and tweak minor visual issues.
- Licensing is the responsibility of the site owner or agency partner.
